Steinway Hall - Fort Worth
Allison is the founder of Violin for Vasculitis, a nonprofit initiative. Through V4V she is on a mission to travel to all 50 states to raise awareness of, and funding for research for, vasculitis, an uncommon type of auto-immune disease with which she was diagnosed as a teen. To date, V4V has seen 30 events in 19 states, and Allison has been invited to speak at universities, churches, libraries, town halls, historic landmarks, and medical symposia across the nation. Allison’s story was featured on CNN’s “Human Factor,” and in June of 2015 she was given the award of “Vasculitis Awareness Rising Star” by the Vasculitis Foundation. Follow her travels on Facebook and Twitter, and via the Violin For Vasculitis website.
For the last 14 years, Allison has performed on an 1826 Edinburgh violin crafted by Matthew Hardie (“The Scottish Stradivari”), a generous gift from her grandfather. When not performing, teaching, or traveling, she enjoys relaxing at home with her collection of 1200+ works of classic literature and some tea.===
