Join us at Steinway Hall - Fort Worth for an evening of Romantic classics with pianist, Young Kwon Llerena. Following her successful 2016 Carnegie Hall debut recital - "An Evening of Piano Worship". Mrs. Llerena will soon embark on a tour of Indonesia, performing and teaching in Jakarta, Bandung and Malang.  

Young Llerena began studying piano at age five. Originally from South Korea, she won second prize at the International Youth Music Competition in Seoul when she was eight. The recipient of numerous awards and honors, she studied in Germany before earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance from Seoul's Chugye University.  

Dr. Kwon earned a Masters degree as well as her Doctorate in piano performance from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and received the Wayne Polly McNeely Piano Award and the James McKinney Outstanding Performance Award. After graduating from the seminary, she continued to work as an adjunct professor as well as a director of the Southwestern Music Academy.

Since leaving the seminary in 2012, Dr. Kwon has toured extensively around the world. In 2016, Llerena made her debut recital at Carnegie Hall, "An Evening of Piano Worship," and will soon embark on a tour of Indonesia, performing and teaching in Jakarta, Bandung and Malang. Young Llerena resides in Fort Worth, Texas, with her husband who is originally from Ecuador. She is a member at Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth where she has served as a pianist since 2009.
