Liam Furdyna, a native of Warsaw, Poland, started taking piano lessons at the age of 6. He holds a Master's Degree in Piano Performance from Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In 2009 he moved to New York in order to continue his education at Mannes College of Music. In the Fall of 2013, he joined the Doctoral Program in Piano Performance at University of North Texas in Denton as a Fulbright scholar. He has given piano recitals in most European countries as well as North Africa and the United States. He is a laureate of several international competitions including Concours Musical de France (I prize, Rouen, 2001), International Competition for Piano Duets (finalist diploma, Bialystok, Poland, 2005) and the Steinway Society Piano Competition (semifinalist distinction award, Boston, 2010). As a piano teacher, he broadened his pedagogical horizons working in such cultural centers as Warsaw, Paris, Tunis, New York and Dallas. Over the summers 2011 and 2012 he was involved in teaching master classes and judging piano competitions in Tunisia in North Africa. He has performed as soloist with several European and American orchestras. He also has recorded for Polish television and radio. Aside from his performing career, he currently teaches in his own piano studio in Irving, TX.
