Consignment Program
For many customers, personally selling their Steinway is a daunting task. If you’re looking for an easier way to sell your piano, consider the our custom consignment program. Our profession is selling pianos, so it’s something we enjoy and do well.
Advantages of Consigning Your Piano With Us
We do the hard work
When you consign your piano with Steinway Hall, we will take care of all the logistics of selling your piano. The only requirement from the consignor is completing the Consignment Agreement.
We take care of technical and moving arrangements
Once the consignee and consignor have agreed to and signed the paperwork, we will make all the arrangements so that your piano is ready to sell. Our in-house piano movers and factory technicians prepare your piano for sale in our showroom, cleaning and tuning the piano so that it is at its best. By using in-house technicians, we provide a consistent standard as well as proper documentation to you and/or prospective buyers.
We display your piano with the world's finest pianos
Since 1992, we have been the exclusive Steinway & Sons piano dealer in North Texas, and we’re committed to the Steinway Standard of Excellence. Your piano will be properly displayed in an enviroment selected to sell the world's finest pianos.
We are a piano store
One of the biggest advantages to consigning your piano with us is that your piano will receive constant exposure to your target market: piano buyers. Throughout the year we have concerts, recitals, and sales events that bring thousands of piano enthusiasts to our showroom. These customers and prospective buyers will know your piano is backed by the Steinway Hall commitment to excellence.
We’ll display your piano online
In addition to placing your piano in our showroom, we’ll also post photos and a thorough description of your piano on our website, www.steinwaypianos.com, providing another avenue for prospective buyers to see your piano.
We are professionals
Every Steinway Hall sales professional has attended programs at William Steinway University, the educational institution of Steinway & Sons. We’re committed to a "Standard of Excellence" that applies to all business practices associated with presenting Steinway Designed Pianos to music communities and consumers served by authorized Steinway dealerships. Your piano will be presented by Steinway professionals who have an unsurpassed knowledge of Steinway-designed pianos.
You are in control
You are in complete control of your piano up to the minute it is sold. If we receive an offer on your piano that is below the agreed-upon price, we’ll contact you immediately to ask if you want to accept the offer. If at any time during the consignment process you decide you would rather keep your piano, all you have to do is let us know. Your piano will be re-delivered to your home at a time that is convenient for you.
You’ll get immediate compensation
When your piano has been purchased we will contact you to inform you of the transaction. We’ll then immediately send you a check for your portion of the agreed-upon selling amount. Your consignment agreement is then complete. We will make all the appropriate arrangements for the piano to be delivered to its new home as well as after-delivery service.
This is what we do
We’re professionals in the piano industry, so we love taking care of pianos and finding new homes for the Steinways in our showroom, whether they’re right off the factory line or family heirlooms. Steinway Hall and its employees understand the treasured place a piano can hold in your heart, and we’ll respect the relationship between a piano and its owner throughout the consignment process.
