HOUSTON, TX (May 5, 2014) - Steinway Piano Gallery, Houston’s only authorized Steinway & Sons dealer, has opened the doors to a brand-new Steinway Selection Center that offers piano buyers a selection process similar to the one offered in the famed Steinway Hall in Manhattan. The new Selection Center, which was celebrated with a grand opening event on May 3, is located in the downtown Houston arts district, just one block from Jones Hall.

The Steinway Selection Center allows buyers the opportunity to select a Steinway concert grand piano in a private setting without distraction. The new Houston Selection Center will provide an ongoing showcase of at least twelve concert grand pianos, including four each of the Steinway Model A, Model B, and Model D. In addition, any used Steinway concert grand pianos will be available for sale at the Selection Center as well.

Steinway pianos are handcrafted, and each one is unique in its own way. The Steinway Selection Center will encourage buyers to play at least four pianos of the same model in a quiet, peaceful environment. “Over the last 20-plus years as a Steinway dealer, we’ve learned that customers want to select from several pianos of the same model, and they prefer to do so in a private setting,” said Danny Saliba, owner of Steinway Piano Gallery.

The grand opening event was marked by a special performance by jazz musician and Steinway Artist Joe Augustine. “I was honored to perform at the Selection Center,” said Augustine. “This space features a superb collection of Steinway grand pianos. I am most impressed.”
