Lu Beiwen began his piano studies at 9 years old in Shanghai. He studied with Tian Shusheng until he was 18 years old.
He earned his B.S. in Automation at the East China Science and Technology University. In addition to his work in automation, he continued his piano studies with Lu Songtao. He attended Shanghai Normal University, receiving his M.A. in Musicology, with an emphasis in piano literature. There, he worked with Weng Yi, a noted Chinese concert pianist. He then moved to Paris to attend the Conservatoire d'Argenteuil, graduating first in his class with a Master of Music in piano performance. He has won 3rd prize in Le Mesnil des Arts International Piano Competition, and has concertized throughout China, France, Germany and the United States.
Based in Shanghai, China, Lu is the founder/director of Dada Music. There, the goal is to learn music with an emphasis in musical communication. Simultaneously, he is also the founder/artistic director of the Shanghai-based concert series "Recital of Poetry and Music." The group is a consortium of piano teachers, performers and music lovers dedicated to producing and sponsoring high quality solo concerts and chamber music.
