About David Ward

David’s career is one of unbridled early promise, debilitating tragedy, and now personal triumph.

Promise: David began playing the piano at age 3. He was playing at a professional level by age 8 and won a Steinway Grand Piano in competition at age 12. He was the recipient of more than 80 full-scholarship offers by the most prestigious music programs in the country and chose to study at The Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, and the Music Academy of the West. His main teacher in New York City was Gary Graffman, one of only 2 main students of the legendary Vladimir Horowitz.

Sought after, David appeared on Television, was featured on National Public Radio, and performed concerts – including at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. He was praised for his moving performances of works by timeless composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, and Prokofiev, as well as for sacred music.

Tragedy: Then, tragedy struck! Another motorist crashed into David’s car. Injuries incurred by David were to his arms – to the very muscles and tendons needed to play the piano. Rehabilitation to David’s arms, life, and soul has taken more than 30-years. Imagine this.

Triumph: Now fully rehabilitated and whole, David’s unflappable personality, uplifting outlook on life, and his passion for music enabled him to triumph over his personal challenges to return as a concert pianist.

Give David a hearty welcome back as he returns to the career he loves.
