About the Artist

KRASSIMIRA JORDAN

Krassimira Jordan is Artist-in-Residence and Professor of Piano at Baylor University. Prior to coming to Baylor she taught at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. Professor Jordan studied piano at the Sofia Conservatory, Moscow Conservatory where she was a pupil of Stanislav Neuhaus and Emil Gilels, and the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. As a concert pianist she was the winner of Alfred Casella, Clara Haskil, Alessandro Casagrande, and Rio de Janeiro International Piano Competitions. She has performed at significant venues in Russia, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, and the United States. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in 1989. She has made a series of recordings entitled Famous Pianoworks by Franz Liszt. Krassimira Jordan’s compact disc releases, Slavic Masterworks for Piano and The Legacy of Pantcho Vladigerov, are both available on the Albany Records label. Her most recent CD, which includes Franz Liszt's Sonata in B Minor, is available online (www.cdbaby.com/cd/krassimira). DR. BRADLEY BOLEN

Dr. Bradley Bolen has served as Senior Lecturer in piano at Baylor University since 2000. A Steinway Artist since 2014, Dr. Bolen has enjoyed a diverse career as a soloist, collaborative artist, and guest lecturer, with appearances throughout the US, Mexico, Europe and the Middle East. He received degrees in piano performance from The University of Texas at Arlington (BM), and The University of Texas at Austin (MM, DMA). He has studied and coached with such prominent musicians as David Stokan, Nancy Burton Garrett, Earl Wild, and Claude Frank. Dr. Bolen has worked as a reviewer for The American Record Guide, and served as faculty for the NGO American Voices since 2010. His recordings the MSR label have received acclaim from such notable publications as The Atlantic Audio Society, as well as Gramaphone and World magazines.
