Houston, TX — May 30, 2026 — Steinway Piano Gallery of Houston proudly celebrated a successful 4th annual Doctors in Recital on Saturday, May 30, at the historic River Oaks Theatre. A sold-out audience gathered there to support Camp PHEver, a UTHealth Houston Medical Genetics Division program serving children living with phenylketonuria (PKU).
Through the generosity of attendees and donors, funds were raised to benefit Camp PHEver and its mission to provide a barrier-free camp experience for children and families navigating PKU.
The evening featured musical performances by physicians from across the Houston medical community, who generously shared their talents in support of the cause. Performing doctors included Neale Clark, Ryan Dickey, Timothy George, Khashayar Hematpour, Maria Matuszczak, Akira Nishikawa, Tony Tran, and Michael Yafi. The program showcased a diverse repertoire of classical and contemporary works performed on a Steinway Spirio Concert Grand piano provided by Steinway Piano Gallery of Houston.
“This year’s event was a tremendous success,” said Amanda Watson, Chair of Doctors in Recital and representative of Steinway Piano Gallery of Houston. “Every seat in the theater was filled, and the support shown by both the performers and audience was truly inspiring. We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to Camp PHEver’s mission.”
The evening also included remarks from Dr. Michael Yafi, Co-Chair of Doctors in Recital, and Dr. Hope Northrup, Professor and Director of the UTHealth Houston Medical Genetics Division, who shared the impact of Camp PHEver and its importance to children and families affected by PKU.
Since its inception, Doctors in Recital has highlighted the artistic talents of Houston physicians while bringing the community together to support meaningful charitable causes.
